Local Hardware Store in Bundaberg Since 1964

Founded in 1964 by well-known local identity Mr Noel Wilson, Wilson’s Industrial Sales quickly outgrew its location on the corner of Targo and Woondooma Street in Bundaberg. By 1972, the store was relocated to the corner of Quay and Walla Street—where it remains today.

After relocating to the bigger site, the business continued to thrive, supporting the local industrial and farming community with a vast product range and personalised service. In 1986, founder Noel Wilson sold the company to Dave Melville Machining Pty. Ltd who brought a wealth of engineering knowledge to the business.

Now 58 years down the track, Wilson’s Industrial Sales supplies the entire Wide Bay-Burnett region, including Maryborough, Gladstone, Rockhampton, North Burnett and South Burnett, with state-of-the-art hand and power tools, abrasives, fasteners, safety gear, welding accessories, tapping, threading and drilling equipment and so much more!

Frequently Asked Questions

Suppose you have previously ordered the correct screws for the job. In that case, you can ensure you get the right ones by using the manufacturer code to identify the correct item from our inventory. The manufacturer code is printed on the screw’s packaging. It is consistent across brands, so the characteristics of your screw will be the same, regardless of the manufacturer.

For new projects that require fresh supplies, the choice of the screw will depend on its function, the size of the load it needs to bear, whether it will be inserted by hand or using a power tool and the materials it will be holding together. If you can’t work out which screw is going to work best, based on these variables, our expert customer care team is happy to offer appropriate product recommendations.

The first thing to do is to consult your owner’s handbook to read up on the specification for a replacement abrasive. Alternatively, you can note down the details of the existing abrasive and order a suitable replacement. Some abrasives are generic, meaning they will fit any brand of machinery that uses an abrasive with that particular specification. In contrast, some brands will only operate effectively if the replacement abrasives are manufactured by the same brand as the machine.

If you’re not sure, ask our customer support team and they can advise.

The factors to take into account when investing in a new drill include:

  • Whether it’s for DIY or professional use.
  • What it’s to be used for.
  • Where it’s going to be used (in a workshop or on-site, for example).
  • Whether cordless or corded is going to be most appropriate.
  • The size that’s needed.
  • What attachments are required.
  • Budget

To make a final decision, it’s usually easier if you can handle the various drill options for yourself and compare one with another. Most of our customers prefer to do this in person at one of our stores. We have branches in Bundaberg, Maryborough, Gladstone, North Burnett, South Burnett and Rockhampton – please pop in and take a look at our wide selection of drills to find one that suits.

The quantity of screws or bolts that we sell broadly depends on their size and use. Larger, specialist bolts are sold in single units. Other fixings may be sold in packs of 50, 100, 1000 or anywhere in between.

In general terms, hardware stores sell everything you need to complete a wide range of DIY and professional construction jobs, except materials. Our range includes abrasives, fixings, adhesives, sealants, tools (power and hand), lubricants, welding equipment, welding supplies, safety equipment, measuring equipment and much more.

Our goods are from leading brands, such as De Walt, Makita, Bostitch, GFB, Finkal, Ullman and WCC. This ensures everything you purchase is professional-grade, designed and manufactured to give dependable, consistent performance.

If you live near our store in Bundaberg, the quickest way to get the hardware supplies you need is to come to pick them up. You can also order online and we offer delivery Australia-wide, but this can take 4-5 days, depending on the volume of your order and your location.
